重组小鼠白细胞介素-18（IL-18）是一种属于IL-1家族的蛋白质，IL-18与广泛表达的IL-18 R alpha结合，后者招募IL-18 R beta以形成信号受体复合物。重组小鼠白细胞介素-18由大肠杆菌表达系统生产，编码Asn36-Ser192的目标基因在N端有一个6His标签。重组小鼠白细胞介素-18（IL-18）增强了脾脏细胞的自然杀伤细胞活性，并刺激T-helper I型细胞产生干扰素γ。在有IL-12或IL-15的情况下，IL-18通过诱导IFN-γ的产生和CD8+T细胞和NK细胞的细胞溶解活性来增强抗病毒的Th1免疫反应。然而，在没有IL-12或IL-15的情况下，IL-18促进CD4+T细胞和嗜碱细胞产生Th2细胞因子IL-4和IL-13。
