成纤维细胞生长因子-9 (FGF-9)是一种多效细胞因子，属于肝素结合FGF家族。像家族中的其他成员一样，FGF-9类似于β-三叶结构。蛋白构造：Expressed with an N-terminal Met. FGF-9 [Pro3-Ser208(Ser34Asn)]，Accession # P54130。

生物活性：ED50 < 5.0 ng/ml，采用3T3细胞增殖法测定，对应的比活性为> 2.0 × 105单位/mg。FGF-9发生可逆二聚，这是其亚家族成员FGF-16和FGF-20的共同特征。同源二聚化过程中涉及的突变也影响肝素的亲和力、与FGF受体的结合以及生物活性。在体内，FGF-9在肢体芽、发育中的骨骼和胚胎发生后期的肠道中表达。FGF-9对心脏、肺、肾、盲肠和睾丸的发育至关重要;FGF-9水平的降低导致早分化。FGF-9还与骨形态发生蛋白7 (BMP-7)一起促进肾单位祖细胞的存活。
