Growth-differentiation factor 15 (GDF15), also known as MIC-1, is a secreted member of the transforming growth factor (TGF)-β superfamily. GDF-15 has a role in regulating inflammatory and apoptotic pathways in injured tissues and during disease processes. GDF-15 overexpression arising from an expanded erythroid compartment contributes to iron overload in thalassemia syndromes by inhibiting hepcidin expression.

生物活性

Growth-differentiation factor 15 (GDF15), also known as MIC-1, is a secreted member of the transforming growth factor (TGF)-β superfamily. GDF-15 has a role in regulating inflammatory and apoptotic pathways in injured tissues and during disease processes. GDF-15 overexpression arising from an expanded erythroid compartment contributes to iron overload in thalassemia syndromes by inhibiting hepcidin expression.

The recombinant human GDF-15 is a disulfide-linked homodimeric protein. The reduced monomer consists of 370 amino acids and has a predicted molecular mass of 40.6 kDa. A DNA sequence encoding the mature form of human GDF15 (Ala 197-Ile 308) was expressed with the fused Fc region of human IgG1 at the N-terminus.

Immobilized Recombinant Human GFRAL Protein at 2 μg/mL (100 μL/well) can bind Recombinant Human GDF-15 Protein, the EC50 is 50-150 ng/mL.
