生物活性：半乳糖凝集素-9是一种含有两个半乳糖凝集素结构域的细胞质蛋白。半乳糖凝集素-9是一种s型凝集素，在何杰金氏病组织中过度表达。半乳糖凝集素-9结合半乳糖苷，对福斯曼五糖有较高的亲和力。半乳糖凝集素-9在胸腺细胞-上皮细胞的相互作用中起作用，与胸腺的生物学相关，并抑制细胞增殖。Galectin-9是HAVCR2/TIM3的配体，可诱导t辅助性1型淋巴细胞(Th1)死亡。此外，Galectin-9通过干扰CD44、VCAM-1、Integrin α4β1等因子的作用抑制肿瘤细胞转移。
