生物活性：趋化因子(C-X-C-Motif)配体6 (CXCL6)是CXC趋化因子家族中的一个小细胞因子。它是一种有效的中性粒细胞趋化和激活因子，它与其他CXC趋化因子如IL-8和ENA-78有广泛的相似性。CXCL6可促进粒细胞释放MMP-9，表明其潜在的炎症介质作用。它在功能上使用IL-8/CXCL8受体来趋化中性粒细胞，但这在结构上与上皮细胞衍生的中性粒细胞吸引剂78 (ENA-78)/CXCL5有关。人类CXCL6基因已经克隆，并被物理定位到4号染色体的CXC趋化因子位点。成熟的人类CXCL6是一个75个氨基酸(aa)的蛋白质，预测分子量约为8 kDa。人CXCL6与小鼠和牛CXCL6的同源性分别为60%和67%。
