生物活性:S100A11是钙结合蛋白S100家族的一员。人S100A11含有两个EF手部基序,与小鼠和大鼠S100A11的氨基酸序列相同82%。它在谷氨酰胺转胺作用下形成共价同型二聚体,也形成二硫连四聚体。S100A11由角质形成细胞分泌,可以交联到皮肤的角质包膜中。二聚化增强了其通过RAGE向角质形成细胞发出信号的能力,诱导EGF家族蛋白的产生,并诱导细胞增殖。二聚也使S100A11结合软骨细胞上的RAGE,导致软骨细胞肥大和软骨基质的分解代谢。此外,S100A11在细胞质中被发现,在DNA损伤、RELM alpha暴露或细胞外钙浓度升高时,S100A11被磷酸化并转移到细胞核中。钙也促进S100A11与S100B以及A1、A2和A6膜联蛋白的结合。S100A11-Annexin A2复合物被募集到质膜损伤的部位,在那里它们促进迁移癌细胞的膜修复。S100A11在各种癌症中表达上调,支持肿瘤细胞增殖、侵袭和迁移。此外,S100A11在卵巢中产生,作用于卵丘细胞,抑制卵母细胞受精。
