白细胞介素-8 (IL-8)又称CXCL8、GCP-1和NAP-1，是最早发现的趋化因子之一，属于CXCL家族。在体内，IL-8以两种形式存在：一种是内皮细胞产生的77a.a蛋白，另一种是单核细胞产生的更活跃的72a.a蛋白。IL-8的受体为7螺旋g蛋白偶联受体CXCR1和CXCR2，只在中性粒细胞上表达。IL-8的功能是诱导细胞形态的快速变化，激活整合素，释放中性粒细胞的颗粒含量。因此，IL-8可以增强防御细胞的抗菌作用。它由单核细胞、巨噬细胞和内皮细胞分泌。IL-8信号通过CXCR1和CXCR2来吸引中性粒细胞、嗜碱性粒细胞和T细胞。IL-8也是血管生成的有效促进剂。
