重组人IkBa蛋白（核因子κB抑制因子α）是 NF-kappa-B 抑制剂家族的成员，可抑制 NF-kB 转录因子。NFKBIA 可阻断 NF-κB 转录因子与 DNA 结合的能力。NFKBIA 通过掩蔽 NF-kB 蛋白的核定位信号 (NLS) 并将它们隔离在细胞质中的非活性状态来抑制 NF-kB。I-kappa B alpha 的信号诱导降解暴露了 NF-kappa B 的核定位信号，从而使其易位到细胞核中并激活响应基因的转录。当 NF-kappa B 诱导 I-kappa B alpha 基因的表达并且新合成的 I-kappa B alpha 在细胞核中积累时，就会建立一个自动调节环，它负向调节 NF-kappa B 依赖性转录。
重组人 NFKBIA 由 323 个氨基酸组成，计算分子量为 36.4 kDa。
