Pentagastrin（ICI-50123）是一种胆囊收缩素B (CCKB) 受体的选择性激动剂，IC50为11 nM。Pentagastrin（ICI-50123）可以增强胃粘膜对酸的防御机制，并保护胃粘膜免受损伤。It stimulates the secretion of gastric acid, pepsin, and intrinsic factor and has been used as a diagnostic aid as the pentagastrin-stimulated calcitonin test. Pentagastrin binds to the cholecystokinin-B receptor, which is expressed widely in the brain. Activation of these receptors activates the phospholipase C second messenger system.
