生物活性:蛋白质S100-A11(S100A11)是S-100家族的一员。S100A11广泛表达于多种组织中,分布于细胞质、细胞核甚至细胞外周。S100A11作为一种具有反平行构象的非共价同二聚体存在。Ca(2+)与S100A11结合会引起构象变化,从而暴露S100A11的疏水裂口,促进其与靶蛋白的相互作用。S100A11作为一种双细胞生长介质,在许多不同类型的肿瘤中既可作为肿瘤抑制因子,也可作为肿瘤启动因子,并在影响癌细胞增殖蛋白方面发挥各自的作用。在细胞核中,S100A11通过激活p21 (CIP1/WAF1)抑制角质形成细胞的生长,诱导细胞分化。S100A11也是一种新的乳腺癌诊断标志物。
