重组大鼠IL-4蛋白是一种多向性细胞因子，调节细胞增殖、存活和基因表达等多种T细胞和B细胞反应。IL-4由肥大细胞、T细胞和骨髓基质细胞产生，调节幼稚CD4+T细胞向辅助性Th2细胞的分化，其细胞因子分泌特征包括分泌IL-4、IL-5、IL-6、IL-10和IL-13，有利于体液免疫应答。IL-4的另一个主要功能是调节免疫球蛋白类转换为IgG 1和IgE亚型。
基于其刺激TF-1细胞增殖的能力，预期ED50是 200~400 ng/ml。
