重组小鼠GM-CSF蛋白是一种造血生长因子，能促进中性粒细胞和巨噬细胞的发育，促进早期红系巨核细胞和嗜酸性祖细胞的增殖和发育。GM-CSF由许多不同的细胞类型产生，包括活化的 T 细胞、B 细胞、巨噬细胞、肥大细胞、内皮细胞和成纤维细胞等。GM-CSF抑制中性粒细胞的迁移，增强成熟终末细胞的功能活性。此外，粒细胞巨噬细胞集落刺激因子（GM-CSF）可以刺激一些肿瘤细胞系的增殖，包括成骨肉瘤、癌细胞和腺癌细胞系。
使用小鼠 FDC-P1 细胞在细胞增殖测定中测得的ED50为<0.05 ng/ml，对应于>2.0 × 107units/mg的比活性。
