Transferrin是一种与铁结合的血浆糖蛋白，可控制生物体中游离铁的含量。
Transferrin 是一种与铁结合的血浆糖蛋白，可结合两个铁（3+）离子，并与一种阴离子（通常是碳酸氢盐）结合。 能控制生物体中游离铁的含量，并可将铁从肠道、网状内皮系统和肝实质细胞运送到体内所有增殖细胞。Transferrin存在于粘膜中，能与铁结合，从而创造出一个游离铁含量低的环境，抑制细菌生存，这一过程被称为限铁机制。炎症时Transferrin的水平会下降。在卵黄形成阶段，将铁离子从血淋巴转运到卵子中。
固定化人转铁蛋白（His 标记）的浓度为 1ug/mL （100uL/孔），与人转铁蛋白受体（Fc 标记）的线性结合范围为 2-50 ng/mL。
