重组人碱性成纤维细胞生长因子（bFGF）是成纤维细胞生长因子家族的一个成员，能够刺激中胚层来源的细胞、神经外胚层，外胚层和内胚层来源细胞的增殖。在体外，bFGF 对内皮细胞具有的趋化和促有丝分裂剂的作用，并且能够促进神经的分化，存活和再生。它已被证明是在调节胚胎发育和分化中至关重要的，它能在血管生成，组织修复，胚胎发育和神经元功能的体内调节中发挥作用。
用3T3细胞进行剂量依赖增殖试验测定，测得的ED50为≤0.1 ng/mL，对应的活性为≥1×107IU/mg。
